Old school summer series 2008
This series started on 27 April and has witnessed some exciting races and the addition of a few more riders on the gate. John Tallentire (aka JTSmooth) from Penrith raced on the 27 April and gave us Scots a good idea of the standard of riding from south of the border (ie. pretty slick).Kevin Rettie competed on the 13 July and 17 August on his DB Leary Turbo survivour. The final round took place on the 17 August with Marc Stewart winning his first race on his birthday.
Final placings after 8 rounds
Placings are based on the best 5 results from the 8 rounds. Congratulations to Kenny Hunter for winning the series. Riders who are eligible for a trophy are highlighted in orange.

Old school event Milton Kenyes 2008
On Sunday 3 August, club members Kenny Scullion, Kenny Hunter, Stuart McIntosh, Marc Stewart and Steven Mitchell attended the annual old school racing event at Milton Keynes organised by RadBMX.Unfortunately, Kenny Hunter (plate 188) was the only Scottish rider to reach any of the final rounds, coming second to former Skyway team rider Billy Stupple (plate 254) in the B final. Kenny agreed the good result was down to the generous supplies of Red Bull the club received from Red Bull's Scott Jardine. Kenny Scullion, however, believed he had better results than other riders who made into the quarter finals (probably didn't drink enough Red Bull).
Overall, the Scots finished their motos with respectable placings, no serious injuries and returned home safely early Monday morning. Will we go again in 09? That's to be decided, but one thing is for sure we won't be camping in tiny pop-up tents. More pics and results about this event can be viewed on RadBMX.

start.

Preston 4 May 2008
Western Titans riders 'invaded' England to take part in the third round of the North Region BMX Series. The riders travelled down on the Saturday to do a couple of hours practice on the Preston BMX track before spending the night in Bolton. On Sunday morning we nipped up the motorway to do battle on the challenging Preston track.
Kenny Scullion (below, plate 6) raced in the 16+ age goup despite being 37 years of age and showed a few of the youngsters how it should be done to take 4th place.
Kenny Hunter missed out on the A final after grounding his pedal in the first turn on his semi, so all three Titans riders were in the B final. Kenny got a great start but at the end of the first straight he lost it over a big set of doubles, taking another 4 riders down with him! Steven Mitchell (2) and Marc Stewart (7) managed to avoid the carnage and sat in 1st and 2nd positions all the way round the track until Marc just got pipped on the line. It finished with Steven taking 1st place, Marc 3rd and Kenny 8th (and a cracked thumb – Ouch!)

Winter Series 07-08
Sunday 24 March 08 saw the final two rounds of the Scottish old school BMX racing. As one of the earlier rounds was rained off, this final day's racing was a double header – 2 races on 1 day! Hard enough when you're a fit teenager but a lot harder when you're 36+! The day started dry, but the track was still damp from several days heavy rain. Going into these races Kenny Hunter had a 6 point lead over Steven Mitchell. 6 points behind Steven was Paul Kennard, followed by David Wright. With 50 points available for the winner of each round (a round is decided over 3 races), and 3 new riders also taking part, it was all to play for.Final results after 8 rounds

Also, Mark from Groove Racing who supplied a whole load of spares and accessories which were awarded to all those taking part along with their trophies, and not forgetting BSD (Scottish BMX company) whose owner, Grant, supplied some of his unique BSD T-Shirts.
